As hard as it may seem to believe, our next District Convention in Jacksonville is just around the corner..  That means that it is not too soon to be thinking about the Caring Corner.  As I have mentioned in the past, I am encouraging hand made arts and crafts and gently used items to be donated in 2008.  In recent years, while profitable, the Caring Corner has become somewhat of a rummage sale.  Understanding that the phrase "one person's trash is another's treasure" may be true, I believe that when the quality of the product is high, the interest of the purchasing public is also high.  Make plans now and begin making those arts and crafts that your talent allows you to do. We will be most appreciative.  Remember, each club that donates $ 200.00 to the caring corner will receive a banner patch at the 2009 awards presentations.

               "Our Kiwanis Kids"
        You will see information on the idea of recognizing those children that we are closest to.  We are proposing the creation a book of photos and narratives of our own children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews or  any other child(ren) that hold a special place in our hearts.   Each photo and narrative would occupy a single page of the book at a cost of $50.00 per page.  The books will be available for sale ($ 10.00) at the Caring Corner.  We spend multiple hours per year volunteering our time and talent serving less fortunate children.  As part of this proposal, it is suggested that each Kiwanis Club in the Florida District submit a minimum of three pages.  There are a minimum number of total pages required to make this a viable project.

Our Kiwanis Kids Keepsake Book


We often spend our time helping children in need. Let's take time to recognize that child or children that are meaningful in our lives.  The Kiwanis Kids Keepsake book is a compilation of photos and narratives of our own Kiwanis Kids; our children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews or any other child(ren) that hold a special place in our hearts.

* Page size:  approximately 8" X 5".
    
* Each photo can be as large as the page, or any part of the page.
    
* Each page can hold one or more photo's plus narrative.
    
* Each photo can be of one child or a group of children.
        

Cost per page is $ 50.00.  
    
    
Completed book is $ 10.00
 The book will be available at the Caring Corner
