Action - November 16, 2005
As authorized by the Board on August
25, 2005, a conference call of the Executive Committee was
convened on Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at 11:00 a.m.
Roll Call: Executive Director
Langguth's roll call indicated that all members of the Executive
Committee were present on the call: Governor Donna M. Batelaan;
Governor-elect H.P. "Phil" Yorston; Treasurer Mark C. Taylor;
Immediate Past Governor William R. Rushing; Past Governor Robert
W. Fowinkle; Division 3 Lt. Governor Brenda G. Sorensen;
Division 20 Lt. Governor Judy R. Roulis; Division 26 Lt.
Governor Charles R. Gugliuzza; and Executive Director George F.
Langguth.
Five items were acted upon during
the conference call with the recorded action appearing below:
1. In order to provide better
financial controls and accountability, authorize the Florida
District of Key Club International budget to be based on the
Kiwanis administrative year of October 1, 2005 - September 30,
2006. Moved by Lt. Governor Roulis. Seconded by
Treasurer Taylor and carried.
2. In order to provide better
financial controls and accountability, authorize the return of
Florida District of Circle K International financial records
and responsibilities to the Florida Kiwanis District Office
under the supervision of the Kiwanis District Executive
Director. Moved by Lt. Governor Gugliuzza. Seconded by
Lt. Governor Roulis and carried.
3. In order to provide better
financial controls and accountability, authorize the Florida
District of Circle K International budget to be based on the
Kiwanis administrative year of October 1, 2005 - September 30,
2006. Moved by Lt. Governor Sorensen. Seconded by Lt.
Governor Roulis and carried with Past Governor Fowinkle
dissenting.
4. Authorize the Florida District
of Kiwanis to execute a contract with the Marco Island
Marriott Resort, Golf Club and Spa for 2011. Motion by
Treasurer Taylor. Seconded by Past Governor Fowinkle and
carried.
5. Authorize the Florida District
to enter into a contract with PCI Communications for the
continued publication of the Florida Kiwanian through
2007-08. The contract contain a ceiling on printing costs of
$4650.00 per issue, plus tax. PCI shall receive the exclusive
rights to advertising, except for the Objects of Kiwanis
sponsors at $100.00 per sponsor and the pre-existing ad
appearing in the October/November issue, until it is cancelled
by the advertiser. The revenue from these sources shall
benefit Kiwanis. Kiwanis reserves the right to reject
advertising that it believes is objectionable or obscene
and not in keeping with the Objects of Kiwanis.
Motion by Past Governor Fowinkle. Seconded by Lt. Governor
Sorensen and carried.

with Osburn, Henning and Company, Certified Public
Accountants, P.A. Copies are filed in the permanent records
of the Florida District of Kiwanis International, Inc.
