MISSION, VISION AND DEFINING STATEMENT
 
MISSION: Improve the quality of life for children and families worldwide.
 
VISION: We will be the world's premier organization engaging adult and youth volunteers to improve the quality of life worldwide.
DEFINING STATEMENT: Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.




INTERNATIONAL GOALS:

      * To build Kiwanis membership to one million members by 2015.
  
     * Kiwanis will be a powerful voice for children.

     * Kiwanis will be the premier provider of programs that develop competent,
       knowledgeable, and ethical youth and adult leaders.

     * Kiwanis will be committed to diversity because of the enrichment that it
       brings to the organization worldwide.

     * Kiwanis will be structured to facilitate movement toward its big audacious goal.

     *  Kiwanis will create the financial resources to meet the goals, objectives, and
        strategies outlined in the strategic plan.


DISTRICT GOALS:

      * A key goal is growth; to meet the mission, vision and defining 
       statement therefore, we want to boldly step up to seek a 1,250 net member
       gain (attempt to meet International's 1 million members by 2015 target); open
       13 new clubs; and reduce member attrition rate to 14%

      *  Education: bring 1,250 attendees to training conferences, exclusive of the
        district convention, using division led and based training conferences and two
        Mid-Winter Conferences.

      *  Service and Administration: Increase service hours by 50% and improve
        Administration activities effectiveness by 20%. Make Florida a leader in the Key
        Leader program by facilitating 3 programs in 2006-2007.

 

IDEAS FOR COMMITTEES...

 
TAG:     Gain enough new members and avoid losing current members to meet the
            net gain goals.

Service: Increase clubs participation in Service Leadership Programs by 100%; 

             Increase total service hours by 50%, encouraging the clubs to use of
             Kiwanis International's  Service in a Box products for their service projects;

            Deliver 150,000 dictionaries to elementary school children during the
            2006-2007 school year;       

            Provide 50,000 hours (10 hours/member) of reading, using Read Around the
            World concept to YC:PO age students in schools and elsewhere;

            Encourage 150 clubs to each award two $75 scholarships for the Key
            Leader leadership weekend program attendance by youths aged 13-17 and
            in college;         

            Encourage 150 clubs co-sponsor 75 new clubs via the World Link Program

Administration: Increase participation in district reporting and awards programs to 90%; improve district web site to equal the quality of the other top 2 United States districts web sites; raise $20,000 in district fund-raising efforts.
