The administrative costs of carrying out the programs that implement the purposes of the Florida Kiwanis Foundation are paid through the Operating Fund. This is a checking account in DeLand, Florida, the location of the administrative office of the Foundation. Such costs include printing, telephone, Executive Director and support staff wages, Board of Trustees meetings, and other necessary expenses. The Operating Fund receives income primarily from annual Kiwanis club Birthday Gifts, suggested at a minimum of $5.00 per member.
