The Florida District of Kiwanis and the Florida
Kiwanis Foundation and clubs, members and our sponsored youth partners:
Key Club, CKI, Builders Club, K-Kids and Aktion Clubs wish to extend
our thoughts and prayers to the millions of individuals severely
affected by Hurricane Charley on Friday the 13th of August and the
succeeding days.
Hundreds, if not thousands, of our members were
among the victims. But the challenges we are facing, make us even
more determined to be among the leaders in providing the compassion
and caring that has always been the hallmark of Kiwanis’ legacy.
A special Hurricane Charley Victims Fund has been
established by the Florida Kiwanis Foundation at the request of
Kiwanis Governor Bob Fowinkle and Foundation President Eric Hines
and their respective Boards. Individuals wishing to make contributions
to this fund should make their checks payable to The Florida Kiwanis
Foundation and mail them to its office in DeLand. Please specify
that the funds be used for Hurricane Relief. All donations are tax
deductible.
Mail your contribution to:
The Florida Kiwanis Foundation
P. O. Box 211
DeLand FL 32721-0211
All donations will be acknowledged in writing.
Florida Kiwanis Foundation Executive Director Garth
Jenkins and I wish to personally thank all of you for your understanding
as our offices were both affected by loss of power and communications
for several days.
